At Neurocore, our Schroth Physiotherapy program is tailored to support individuals with Scoliosis, Kyphosis and Pectus Excavatum through a personalized, evidence-informed approach.

Our Training
Carole Chebaro, Physiotherapist, and Nicole Mele, Registered Kinesiologist, are both trained and certified in the Schroth Method under Andrea Lebel—Canada’s first Schroth Physiotherapist, personally selected by Christa Lehnert-Schroth, daughter of founder Katharina Schroth.Since 2023, Carole and Nicole have been applying the SSOL Schroth Scoliosis method—rooted in the original Schroth method working with children to older adults. The Schroth Method is evidence-based and follows established guidelines of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and the International Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT).

Your SSOL Schroth Physiotherapy Assessments includes a thorough in-person or virtual clinical assessment that includes:
- Postural analysis
- Spinal alignment & ribcage prominences using the Adam Forward Bend Test
- Evaluation of curve pattern
- Assessment of strength, sensation, range of motion, balance, reflexes and functional movement
- Reassessments to monitor change and response to treatment
- A detailed review of your X-rays and Medical History
- A collaborative conversation to understand your personal goals and areas of treatment relevant to your care
- Review of how scoliosis may impact your quality of life and participation in everyday tasks, work, recreation and sports
Collaboration is key. We work closely with you, your care team—including your orthotist, surgeon (if needed), and family —to create a supportive, cohesive treatment plan. You are always at the centre of our care.

Your SSOL Schroth Treatment Sessions include:
- Manual therapy where applicable utilize hands on treatment to help explore and address areas of reduced mobility, discomfort and / or stiffness.
- Warm-up activities to modulate sensory and motor control
- Coordination exercises to enhance neuromuscular awareness and functional stability
- Corrective posture cues to help integrate postural awareness throughout your day
- Breathing exercises to support rib cage mobility, lung capacity & improve postural control
- Schroth-specific exercises designed to address your unique curve pattern
- Home Exercise Program to build awareness, confidence, and reinforce new movement skills
- Daily life awareness and integration of how to reduce spinal load and collapse
- Equipment guidance on simple, effective equipment to make your home routine practical and sustainable.
Our goal is to empower you to take control of your scoliosis management through education, movement, and consistent support.
We recognize that clients and their loved ones have different concerns when scoliosis is diagnosed. From the outset, we focus on providing reassurance, setting realistic expectations, and tailoring treatment to each person’s needs. Care plans are dynamic and evolve throughout the treatment process.
